Lions Green Canopy — one million new trees by June 2027
The Lions Green Canopy Project is a Category A initiative of Lions Australia,
calling on every club across the country to help plant one million new trees
by 30 June 2027 — and 500,000 trees every year beyond that.
District 201N1 clubs can make a real contribution right across our region.
🌳
One million trees
The national goal is one million new trees planted by 30 June 2027,
with 500,000 each year thereafter.
🤝
Local partners
Work with local nurseries, councils, Landcare groups and horticulturists
to source and plant suitable native species.
💰
Low cost to clubs
Many clubs find sponsorships and grants cover the costs — your club's
contribution may be little more than time and labour.
🌏
Community engagement
Tree planting events attract younger participants and new members —
one of the best Lions recruitment opportunities available.
📋
Resources available
