National Tree Day is Australia’s largest community tree-planting and nature care event, coordinated by Planet Ark. Held annually (usually in late July), it encourages schools, councils, businesses and volunteers to plant native trees and restore local habitats. The day promotes environmental awareness, biodiversity, carbon reduction and community participation in practical conservation activities across urban and regional Australia.
