GMA Action Plan — 2025–26
The Global Membership Approach (GMA) Action Plan translates the district's membership strategy into practical activities for clubs. It is led by the District Development Group with support from the Governor Advisory Teams — GMT, GLT, and GST — and is reviewed each Lions year. The six focus areas below outline what District 201N1 is actively working on in 2025–26.
New club development
The district is actively exploring new club opportunities across the region, including specialty clubs aligned with specific community interests such as environmental conservation and animal welfare. Potential new locations are assessed in consultation with Zone Chairs and the District Development Group.
Guiding Lion program
Guiding Lion training sessions are scheduled across the district to develop a pipeline of experienced members who can support new clubs and members. A standardised training template is in place to ensure consistency of delivery across all zones.
New member integration
Clubs are encouraged to designate Lions to stay in regular contact with new members in their first year, helping them feel welcome and connected. Sponsorship training supports existing members in bringing in and mentoring new Lions effectively.
IT and social media
The district supports clubs in improving their online presence through website guidance, Facebook training, and IT support. Keeping club communications current and engaging is an important part of attracting new members and promoting service activity.
Service promotion
Clubs are encouraged to participate in zone-level service projects to raise community visibility and demonstrate Lions' impact. The Club Quality Initiative supports clubs in conducting honest assessments of their strengths and areas for improvement to strengthen service delivery.
