GMA ACTION PLAN: 201 N1 District Plan to achieve the strategy –
New Club Development:
- Club Branch Formation:
- Explore the potential of forming a club branch with “Kindly Animals Sanctuary,” an active animal welfare group requiring management support. A preliminary meeting has been held with key personnel, and a site visit is scheduled for Sunday, 23 July. Notably, the area is home to koalas.
- Specialty Club Promotion:
- Consider the establishment of an environmental club in collaboration with the Gunnedah Koala Sanctuary, currently under construction and managed by the Gunnedah Regional Council. Initial plans faced challenges due to the withdrawal of the Cairns group.
- New Club Locations:
- Investigate a burgeoning housing development near Port Macquarie, with Leadership Chair Bob Forster conducting the initial review.
- Evaluate Warialda as a potential club area following insights from Deborah Tabbart’s visit on 30 January. Local ecological concerns include the rock wallaby and black cockatoo.
Guiding Lion Program:
- Schedule Guiding Lion training for September, with details pending confirmation.
- Develop a training template by GST Leader and GMA Leader to standardise the training process.
New Member Integration:
- Member Identification and Support:
- Reinstate the practice of designated Lions calling new members periodically to assist with their integration, building on the positive reception from the pilot year.
- Sponsorship Training:
- Organize sponsorship training in November 2023, led by GLT Leader and PDG Brian Grieve via Zoom. Specifics to be announced.
- Develop a standard template for sponsorship training, coordinated by GST Leader and GMA Leader.
- Convention Involvement:
- Facilitate a new members’ forum at the N1 District Convention in October, possibly online, with PDG Brian Grieve and GMA Leader leading. Explore options for an in-person gathering at a central location.
IT and Social Media Enhancement:
- IT Team Development:
- Web Master Michael Diessel and his team are enhancing club IT support.
- Website and Social Media Updates:
- Keep the District 201n1 website and associated communications current.
- Plan upcoming Facebook training for clubs with John Matheson.
Service Promotion:
- Club Quality Improvement:
- Emphasize the “Club Quality Initiative” at the next Cabinet meeting, highlighting the importance of SWOT analysis for club development.
- Survey and Feedback Collection:
- GST Leader is set to distribute a club survey via email, aiming to gather actionable feedback.
- Service Project Coordination:
- Encourage each club within the district to participate in a zone-specific service project, building on the successful model implemented in Zone 5.
